Ø Purpose of Position

  • The job incumbent is responsible for inspection in QA/QC field of IND business (Oil & Gas&comma Power and Petrochemical Industries)
  • He usually carries out his tasks independently&comma with minimum supervision&comma and these may be on well-identified&comma or isolated assets&comma or on complex installations.
  • Support business line to comply with all TQR Issues.
  • The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System&comma including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy

Ø Major Responsibilities

  • Review of applicable contractual requirements (technical standards&comma specifications&comma etc) & highlight execution/inspection problems if any.
  • Inspection of Pressure Vessels & components: (Filters&comma Boilers&comma Storage Tanks etc) from raw material stage to final stage&comma as per different codes & standards like ASME Sec-VIII. Including Documents review like QAP&comma WPS&comma PQR&comma WPQR&comma NDT procedures&comma material identification&comma applicable testing&comma stage-wise inspection of welding & fabrication like joint fit-up&comma welding inspection&comma NDT&comma components inspection&comma final inspection like leakage testing by hydraulic & pneumatic means etc.
  • Inspection of Piping: Piping inspection for Process Plant&comma including activities like stage-wise inspection&comma components inspection&comma Dimensional&comma Spool inspection at fabricator’s site.
  • Follow BV TQR Policies and HSE Requirements.
  • Inspection of Pipes & Tubes: Inspection of ERW & SS pipes as per ASTM&comma IS and API standards. Including Raw-material stage to Final inspection i.e. review of documents&comma witness of strip & pipe U.T.&comma Eddy-current testing&comma MPT&comma Hydro-test&comma mechanical test & other test requirements for black as well as galvanized pipes. Handled many projects of pipes inspection as per different grades.
  • Inspection of piping components like Flanges&comma Fittings&comma Valves&comma Pumps including various testing activities as per applicable piping code & product standard.
  • Inspection of Castings: Inspection of Critical jobs like Shafts & Roller assemblies&comma Gears&comma Mill Heads&comma with activities like Raw Material Identification&comma Applicable physical & chemical Testing&comma U.T. in proof machined condition&comma final inspection after machining&comma M.P.I.&comma D.P.T.
  • Inspection of Steel structure for hydro power plants: Inspection of structural parts of hydropower projects like radial gates&comma spillway stop logs&comma surge shaft&comma trash racks etc M.P.I.&comma D.P.T.&comma and UT of parts. Also includes inspection of other structural parts like structural steel section&comma trusses&comma and towers.
  • Selection of the most appropriate inspection techniques.
  • Monitoring&comma coaching and supervising of one or more inspectors.
  • Vendor Assessment: An audit activity on documentation & different aspects of quality control & quality assurance at vendor’s site&comma analysis of system of NC follow ups & effectiveness of implementation of QMS&comma product testing. Subsequent Vendor Rating on the basis of observations. Capacity assessment of manufacturing facilities of manufacturers for various clients.
  • Project coordination & management:
  • Preparation & implementation of inspection checklists.
  • Project coordination & management for inspection of bought out items and site inspections for various

Ø Qualification And Experience

  • B. Sc in Civil with minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An intrinsic Task Master.
  • Should have good leadership abilities and skills.
  • Should have a pleasing personality
